 BABGOC (Bali, April, 2008) - Bali Asian Beach Games, Director General, Mrs. Rita Subowo, held talks at the Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali to brief their representatives on the first Asian Beach Games. Mrs. Subowo discussed the arrangements for the Games in detail, counseling on the pressures that the airport is expected to handle.
In October, the Games are expected to bring in an excess of 5000 people and during a peak season in Bali. Although Ngurah Rai Airport is an international airport perfectly capable of handling the thousands of tourists that pass through its gates through out the year, undoubtedly, the influx will create extra strain.
The Olympic Council of Asia, the National Olympic Committees, the athletes, technical delegates and their guests are expected to arrive on commercial as well as private airplanes that will need special co-ordination and resources.
