BABGOC Broadcast and Press Services 3rd TV Audit

BABGOC (Bali, April 21, 2008) - The 17th and 18th of April saw representatives of the Olympic Council of Asia, Mr. Dan Hubp and Mr Patrick Furlong, joined by Mr. Mike Wilmot from IGBS preside over the BABGOC Broadcast and Press Services 3rd TV Audit.  Also present at this meeting were members of the Bali Asian Beach Organizing Committee from the IT directorate to discuss and update the OCA on Games Information Systems, the Sports Directorate to report on sports competition schedules and the Marketing Directorate to describe the ‘Look of the Games’ program.  All subjects having a direct relation to Broadcast and Press Services.

The meeting included a tour of approved OCA venues, highlighting specific issues regarding different sports and their broadcasting logistics.

Mike Wilmot reported confirmed contracts with crews to film the LIVE Sepaktakraw competitions, LIVE Beach Volleyball competitions and the Highlights of the Games programs.  IGBS will return to Bali in June to produce the vignettes for the Games, an integral part of the Games Broadcasting package.

The Games Services directorate was impressive in its high standard of organization, prompting Mr. Furlong to comment that “Hospitality in Bali works very well and should impress.”

Mr. Hubp wrapped up the meeting saying that it was filled with “good information, decisions and conclusions.”   He stated that he “found the meetings very valuable for progress as far as the Games are concerned.”
